Copperline Farm won the final of the Iglehart Cup on Saturday, winning 12-8 against Los Machitos/El Refugio at the Patagones Polo Club.
Very much a game of 2 halves, Los Machitos El Refugio took control early in the game, leading from the first chukka and maintaining a three-goal advantage, 7-4, by the fourth chukka. At that point, they appeared to be in command. However, Copperline Farms responded in the fifth chukka, outscoring their opponents 4-1 to tie the game at 8-8. This shift in momentum continued into the final chukka, where Copperline Farms scored four unanswered goals, preventing Los Machitos El Refugio from finding the posts and securing a 12-8 win to claim the title which forms part of the NPC 16-goal Championship (Wellington PoloTour).
