Texas A&M University won the final of the Division I Men's National Intercollegiate Championship on Sunday 30th March, winning 15-14 against University of Virginia at the Prestonwood Polo & Country Club.

A tough match, it was tightly contested throughout with the lead changing throughout. With both teams playing strong, attacking games, there were 38 fouls called and in the end the difference was made from the penalty line with Texas A&M making the most of their 12 penalty attempts to score 9 points. This kept them in the lead until a great comeback from Virginia saw them go 5-0 in the 5th chukka, giving them the lead and forcing Texas A&M to fight hard to tie things up at 14 all in the last.

With things all tied up it was a penalty shootout for the win and Texas A&M University came out triumphant after scoring 2 of their 3 penalties.
