La Hache Pax Assistance won the final of the Copa Thai Polo on Saturday, winning 13-9 against Scone at the Abierto del Jockey Club.
The four man team proved to be too much for Scone to handle on the big day and the game was practically won by the end of the second chukka when La Hache outscored their opponents by an emphatic 5-0. After that the scoring was more even, but Scone was unable to reduce the gap to less than three goals from then on. Paco de Narváez and Benjamín Panelo dominated the goal scoring for La Hache with 5 goals each. All of Scone's goals came from penalties with Adolfo Cambiaso scoring 8 out of their total of 9 goals. It is very surprising that they did not manage any field goals from open play. Benjamín Panelo won the award for most valuable player of the final, which is a high accolade given that five other participating players have a higher handicap than him at present.
