Player Insight Hope Arellano

Hope Arellano is a powerhouse player with an impressive 101 goals across 25 games in the US season, playing for a variety of teams including La Fe for the US Open Women's Polo Championship. As well as being a strong individual player, with a 10 goal ladies handicap, the youngest player to achieve this accolade, she is also a master of the team combination play making her a crucial and pivotal asset to any team she is on both women's and mixed. Accurate passing and clever reading of the field and team leadr positioning mean that even when she is not making the play on the ball herself, she is making positive plays for her team, assisting her teammates and creating ground-making plays if not goals.

She is able to read the play well and then use her speed and superior horsepower to make the most of any opportunity. Strong on the ball and in attack she turns these opportunities into runs to goal, outrunning or outmanoeuvring her opposition to take the ball to goal and shoot with confidence and accuracy. She is rarely challenged once in possession and out in front as she is quick thinking, but when under pressure she is able to hold her space and the ball, scoring, shooting or passing.

A 432% shooting accuracy from the field and 59.1% from the penalty line throughout the season showcase her impact on the scoreline for any team she plays on.
