White Deer Park won the final of the Ellerston Spring Trophy on Sunday, winning 8-7 against Ellerston White at the Ellerston Polo Club.

The two evenly matched teams battled it out in the final with White Deer Park doing just enough to win in the end. The lead changed hands several times during the match as both sides took it in turns to dominate the scoring in different chukkas. Ellerston White went in to the last chukka with a slender one goal lead, but White Deer Park outscored them 3-1 to clinch the win by the narrowest of margins. Both teams had a similar number of chances from open play with White Deer Park having a slightly higher conversion rate. Ellerston White were blown for considerably more fouls than their opponents and if White Deer Park had been more efficient with their penalty taking they might have won more comfortably in the end.
