La Dolfina Saudi won against Ellerstina UAE Yellow Rose by a score of 15-12 in the Argentine Open at Palermo on Wednesday 4th December in a close and unusual match.
La Dolfina were riding in their usual compact formation that allowed for quick passes and agile plays between the 4 teammates, while Ellerstina were spread thinner across the field making keeping possession harder as they gave more space for La Dolfina to intercept long passes. This is most likely a factor in why just 1 goal was scored from the field by the team that is usually such an attacking side. 11 penalties in from Sapo Caset kept them in the game throughout and even saw them take the lead in chukkas 4 and 5, but it wasn't enough and with only 10 shots to goal to La Dolfina's 24 it was clear throughout who was controlling the play on the field.
It wasn't until the 6th chukka however, that La Dolfina truly began to play their game, creating scoring opportunities that saw them take back the lead and the advantage on the field. They began to focus less on shutting down Ellerstina UAE Yellow Rose and more on playing their customary free-flowing style, a change up in tactic that saw them continue to pull ahead in the 7th and 8th chukkas to secure the win. Anticipating each other perfectly, there as always a blue shirt at the end of every pass, Pelon and Nero turning onto passes before they were even hit.
This win for La Dolfina Saudi sends them to the final where they will take on La Natividad in an 80 goal match up.
