The opening day of the 5th Abierto Argentino Femenino produced decisive victories for El Overo Z7 UAE, La Dolfina BP and La Irenita Libra Seguros at Pilar. In the opening game of the day, El Overo Z7 UAE defeated El Silencio Breva Farms 20-3, while La Dolfina BP also claimed the dominant 18-1 victory against La Ensenada Fravega. In the final two matches of the day, La Aguada Rioplatense won 11-7 over Thai Polo Nearside and La Irenita Libra Seguros handily defeated Magual Ladiespolo.ie 17-2. 
Two-time defending champions El Overo Z7 UAE began their title defense with an impressive 20-3 victory against El Silencio Breva Farms. The only team with two 10-goalers in Hazel Jackson and Lia Salvo, El Overo Z7 UAE held a large 19-goal difference on handicap and prevented any challenge from their opponent. However, the opening chukka displayed fight from El Silencio Breva Farms as they remained tied at 2-all, but the remainder of the game was all El Overo Z7 UAE as they finished the game on an 18-1 run for the decisive victory. 
Entering the second game with an impressive line-up of 10-goaler Nina Clarkin, with Mia Cambiaso, Candelaria Fernandez Araujo and Milagros Fernandez Araujo, La Dolfina BP held 14 more goals on handicap and displayed their might in the dominant victory against La Ensenada Fravega. The duo of Clarkin and Candelaria Fernandez Araujo led their attack from the penalty line, shooting 6 for 8, while Cambiaso shot 75% to finish with six field goals. A step ahead throughout the match, La Dolfina BP dominated possession to complete the convincing 18-1 win.
The closest match of the day was between 23-goal Thai Polo Nearside and 22-goal La Aguada Rioplatense, with the latter capturing the four-goal victory. The lone American in the tournament, Hope Arellano finished with six goals and two assists as part of a dominant trio that also consists of Izzy Parsons and Mili Sanchez. Controlling all aspects of play, La Irenita Libra Seguros outshot their opponents 28-4, holding Magual ladiespolo.ie without a shot in the first half. Adding four penalty conversions, La Irenita Libra Seguros secured the double-digit victory to end the opening day.
