Horsegate/Tonkawa narrowly defeated Pegasus/Propaganda 8-7 in the H. Ben Taub Memorial at Houston Polo Club. Emerging tied in the fourth chukker, Horsegate/Tonkawa were able to break through with a one-goal differential to carry them to the victory.
Shane Rice opened the scoring for Pegasus/Propaganda, followed by goals from Lance Stefanakis and Jimmy Seward to take a quick 3-0 advantage at the end of the first chukker. As Pegasus/Propaganda and Horsegate/Tonkawa matched each other with one goal in the second, it would be Pegasus/Propaganda’s David Andras to break through with two penalty goals and an additional goal from the field to tie the match 4-4 entering halftime. Shane Rice started the fourth with a successful penalty conversion for one of two goals in the chukker for Pegasus/Propaganda, as Horsegate/Tonkawa were only able to score one from the mallet of Mason Wroe. The fourth chukker proved definitive as the two teams exchanged goals in the fifth and sixth with Horsegate/Tonakawa holding onto their one goal advantage and taking the game 8-7.
