Play continued at San Isidro Polo Club in the Jockey Club Open as Ellerstina Pilot faced a winless La Dolfina seeking their first chance for celebration in match play. Overcoming a slow start and halftime deficit, La Dolfina were able to take control in the second half for a 13-9 comeback victory.
Ellerstina Pilot struck first in opening chukka with a goal from Mackenzie Weisz and despite a goal from La Dolfina’s Diego Cavanagh, Ellerstina Pilot were able to follow with another two to take an early lead. Diego Cavanagh successfully converted a penalty shot for La Dolfina in the second, scoring the only goal for either team. Scoring two goals in the third, including another from Mackenzie Weisz, Ellerstina Pilot were able to take a 5-3 lead at halftime. La Dolfina came out strong in the fourth chukka, scoring three goals, including one from the field contributed by Lucas Monteverde. Despite two goals from Ellerstina Pilot’s Facundo Pieres, the fifth chukka belonged to La Dolfina with Lucas Monteverde continuing to shine and adding two more goals to La Dolfina’s four goal chukka. Entering the final chukka of play La Dolfina held their first lead of the match. Ahead by one goal, La Dolfina managed to keep Ellerstina Pilot off the scoreboard in the sixth and saw Lucas Monteverde finish the day with a total of seven goals, as La Dolfina won their match 13-9.
