After falling to Ellerstina Pilot in their first match of the Jockey Club Open at San Isidro Polo Club, La Ensenada were seeking their first win of match play against La Dolfina. Featuring a low scoring first half, both teams appeared evenly matched until La Ensenada broke through in the third and fourth chukkas to stave off an attempted late game comeback from La Dolfina to emerge 12-8 victors.
The first chukka began with Poroto Cambiaso scoring the first goal for La Dolfina, with La Ensenada’s Juan Britos following suit on a successful penalty shot. The second and third chukkas showcased a strong defensive strategy from La Ensenada as they were able to hold La Dolfina to two goals and entered the half with a one goal, 4-3 advantage. The fourth chukka saw La Ensenada continue to extend their lead including two more goals from Juan Martin Zubia. Porto Cambiaso was only able to answer with one penalty goal for La Dolfina, as they were left off the scoreboard from the field. The fifth chukka was dominated by La Ensenada, scoring a total of five goals including two more from Bartolome Castagnola. Sensing the chance of victory slipping away, La Dolfina mounted a valiant effort in the final chukka, posting four goals, including two from Porto Cambiaso. Ultimately, the deficit was too much to overcome and as time expired in the match La Ensenada celebrated their first victory 12-8.
