Pegasus/Propaganda faced ML Bar on October 10, in the Carlton & Keleen Beal Cup at Houston Polo Club. Building on a strong offensive start, ML Bar Ranch would take a three goal advantage into the second half of the game and emerge from a strong defensive second half to take the match 10-8.
ML Bar Ranch’s Cody Ellis would strike early with two goals including a successful penalty conversion, to provide the only scoring in the first chukker. Ellis’ continued the offensive drive for ML Bar Ranch to open the second with another two goals. Mason Wroe found the goal for Pegasus/Propaganda’s first goal of the match, while Ellis capped off the second with his third goal of the chukker. Pegasus/Propaganda would push in the third as David Andras posted two goals on three shots while Nick Cifuni would also score. Despite being left off the scoreboard in the third, ML Bar Ranch carried a 7-4 lead into halftime.
Each team traded goals in the fourth chukker with contributions from Wroe for Pegasus/Propaganda and two penalty goals off the mallet of ML Bar Ranch’s Ellis and Abby Benton. Both ML Bar Ranch and Pegasus/Propaganda displayed strong defense in the fifth with ML Bar Ranch’s Joe Wayne Barry scoring the only goal of the chukker. Attempting to make a comeback in the final chukker of the match, Wore and Andras would each take advantage of penalty shots to add two goals for Pegasus/Propaganda. Despite the push, it would be Benton to score the final goal from the field to seal the 10-8 victory for ML Bar Ranch.
