Nearside Open Backhand - APF

Nearside Open Backhand AUS

  • The attacking player picks up the ball on his nearside and is able to pass the ball onto his offside as no-one is making a play on the ball on his nearside.
  • As the attacking player drives the ball forwards, it bounces off the pony in front of him and the ball unexpectedly changes direction.
  • An opposition teammate picks up the loose ball and plays a nearside open backhand pass towards goal.
  • Anticipating the backhand, a fellow teammate is quick to turn and pick up the new line of the ball. Unmarked, he hits it through the goal.
