Achieving success on the polo field requires the ability to quickly and cerebrally identify plays as they unfold in-game. One of the most utilized shots in polo is the nearside pass.
Here is an example of a player successfully passing from the nearside resulting in a goal.
- Player anticipates the opponent's miss/hit pass from knock-in
- Player passes nearside open into space to his teammate
- Identifying the opportunity, the pass receiver anticipates and moves forward beating the turning defender to take possession
- Player taps ball through the goal
