Pegasus/Propaganda’s Late Surge Leads to Carlton & Keleen Cup Victory

Play continued in the Carlton & Keleen Cup between BTA and Pegasus/Propaganda on October 22, at Houston Polo Club. In a close start, BTA carried a one goal lead at halftime but Pegasus/Propaganda’s combined five goals in the fifth and sixth chukkers propelled them from behind to overtake BTA 10-9.

Pegasus/Propaganda’s Nick Cifuni struck first, scoring two consecutive goals including one from the penalty line, as Steve Kreuger answered with his first of four goals in the match for BTA. Kruger continued the momentum in the second chukker as the only offensive contributor for either team, adding one from the field and another on a penalty conversion. Pegasus/Propaganda responded to the offensive strike from BTA with back-to-back goals from Mason Wroe but after two additional goals from BTA’s Nicolai Galindo, Pegasus/Propaganda found themselves trailing 4-5 at the half.

Last to score before the break, Galindo kicked-off the second half for BTA on a penalty goal. Wroe found the scoreboard in response for Pegasus/Propaganda, as Kreuger added the last goal of the chukker for BTA. Despite BTA posting an additional two goals in the fifth, Pegasus/Propaganda broke through scoring three goals, including two from the mallet of Wroe. Pegasus/Propaganda’s late push continued in the sixth, keeping BTA off the scoreboard as Wroe found the goal two more times to complete the comeback and take the 10-9 victory.
