- Umpire throws the ball in hard and underarm. It bounces off a pony and the Player hanging back in the line-up is quick to push through and pick up the new line of the ball.
- The Player looks up to see if a teammate is running forwards towards the goal, to get into a position to pick up a pass. Also he assesses how strong his opponent is and what is his defensive play.
- Player taps the ball, controlling it forwards as he is unmarked and there is no teammate in a position to pick up a pass.
- The Player controls the ball forwards but when he cannot easily pass the defender, the Player hits a hard offside neck shot straight to goal. The teammates follow down the line of the ball to ensure it goes through the goal.
