Ellerstina UAE Yellow Rose won against La Natividad by a score of 16-14 in the Tortugas Open at Tortugas Country Club on Saturday.
La Natividad finally lost a match after an unbeaten 13 match run and Ellerstina Yellow Rose fully redeemed themselves after their surprising loss last week to Cría La Dolfina. Sapo Caset was on fire with 12 goals in this match and is the leading scorer of the tournament at this stage, but it was truly a team effort on the part of Ellerstina. Lucas Monteverde surely couldn't have wished for a better present on the day of his 19th birthday! The scoring was very even throughout the match, but Ellerstina were able to stay ahead in the second half and won by a two goal margin in the end. This result throws the group wide open, with every team having won one match and lost one match, but Ellerstina are now the favourites to go through to the final, because they only need to win their final match against Chapeulefú to progress, due to the head-to-head tie-breaker rule.
