Today’s lesson will cover the skill of moving in various directions on the polo field to create space or evade defenders.

Here is an example of a player turning right resulting in a goal:

  • Defender successfully hooks opponent from behind
  • Defender takes possession of the ball
  • Player turns left to prevent the ride-off or hook from the defender
  • Player passes ball to receiving teammate into space with a nearside neckshot
  • Teammate controls the bouncing ball and scores with a nearside shot
